Cemana kan Zero Waste ani?

I have been totally addicted to reading about Bea Johnson and her Zero Waste movement. I love it (as now I am all about simplifying). But, I have to say... Living in B-land does not make it easy.

And, 'Don't want what you don't have' is difficult sometimes. I now understand how downsizing and simplifying your lifestyle can take from a couple of months to a couple of years.

Baby steps...

Fail To Plan, Plan To Fail

Things are always crazy with the three kids. There are appointments to remember, homework to do, things to fix, things to buy... Trying to remember everything, alas, is just too much for my mommified brain (aha! A pun!).

I saw Jada Pinkett Smith give a very good answer to a question on being a mother. I totally agree with her. But, something that helps me stay on top of things is... Planning.

I suppose I have been a fan since high school. I have planner going back to form one containing my list of homework, books to bring, errands etc.

Now, my planners have evolved and contain others' details and appointments. But, I have to admit, the past few years I have tried going the App route. Remember the Milk has been a great external memory. But, somehow, I am loving the return to paper...

My Grandma

Although she was relatively quiet and, I don't think I was her favourite, sometimes I find myself thinking of my grandma. What she had gone through... What she had to live with... Small things she told me... The delicious things she cooked.

I think she is the one who taught me to appreciate good food and the joy of travel and that you always need a plan B.

She gave me real insight to how our culture used to treat women back in the day (not good!).

I remember transcribing her amazing recipes written in jawi into rumi so more people could read and make use of them.

She wasn't greatly affectionate but she was generous and I remember her many gifts. Often times out of the blue and exactly what we would love.

I do miss you, Nenek. I hope you have found peace and that the many, many cucus have made you proud.

Ain't No Mountain High Enough

Feeling happy after my conversation with my boss.

Hoping to be more productive everywhere in my life this year and feeling inspired by David Allen's e-mail.

Declutter! Simplify! Refresh!

Those may not be his exact words but thats what I got from it.

Ten Years Later

My seven year old likes to say...

'5 years later...'
'8 years later...'

Especially when things take much linger than their supposed to. I suppose this is

'10 years later...'

It has taken a very long time for me to return to blogging. Let's see where it goes.

This blog will document my thoughts on various things going on in my life but I'm sure you will see some recurring themes like simplifying your life, decluttering, my kids, my kids and my kids. Haha. Typical mom stuff. Live with it. 10 years was long enough for me to pop out 3.
